47045-VTN-011-G10-S-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Vietnam faces major challenges in the prevention and treatment of diseases, including HIV and AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis (TB). It is facing major challenges not only in the prevention and treatment of these diseases, but also in the equity of the health system and the quality of service it provides. The goal of this Program is to strengthen health systems to improve and sustain outcomes for these three disease programs and mother to child health (MCH) programs in Vietnam. This health systems strengthening (HSS) Program will target people in 15 project provinces plus patients suffering from HIV, TB and malaria. It will focus on strengthening the basic health care network through reinforcing health workforce capacity and upgrading the preventive care facilities at district and commune levels as well as ensuring the safety, efficacy and quality of drugs in Vietnam through establishing a national pharmacovigilance system and strengthening the drug quality control network.
