47045-VNM-M-NIMPE-1 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Viet Nam, Malaria, National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology of the Ministry of Health of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (NIMPE)This program has the following goals: To reduce malaria morbidity to below 0.15/1,000 population, and malaria mortality to below 0.02/100,000 population, no provinces in the active malaria control phase, 40 provinces in the prevention of malaria re-introduction phase, 15 provinces in the malaria elimination phase and 8 provinces in the pre-elimination phase by 2020. The objectives of this program are: Ensure that all people have better access to early diagnosis, prompt and effective treatment of malaria at the public and private health facilities. Ensure the coverage of all people at risk of malaria by appropriate and effective malaria control measures. Improve scientific research activities and apply the results of research in malaria control and elimination activities. Improve the knowledge and behaviour of people relating to malaria control so that they can actively protect themselves against malaria. Improve the malaria epidemiological surveillance system and ensure sufficient capacity for malaria epidemic response.
