47045-UZB-809-G04-M-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria The overall aim of the program is to further reduce the incidence of malaria in Uzbekistan, interrupt its transmission, ensure preparedness for a rapid response following registration of new cases, and prevent malaria recurrence. The objectives of the program under the Round 8 grant include strengthening of national capacity in early detection and treatment, implementing financially sustainable and stable preventive measures, early diagnostics, containment and prevention of epidemics. The overall strategy is aimed at further expansion, continuation and strengthening of measures implemented under the national program and the existing Round 4 program (UZB-405-G02-M) and is consistent with the new national strategy aimed at eliminating malaria in the country.
