General terms and conditions which apply to Global Fund grants. 47045-SSD-405-G05-H-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Years of civil war and limited data, due to a deficient epidemiological monitoring and evaluation system, make it difficult to generalize about the status of HIV and AIDS in Sudan, although there exists a lack of definite information and reliable statistics regarding the expansiveness of the existing HIV and AIDS epidemic. The program supported by this grant seeks to halt and reverse the spread of HIV and AIDS. Main objectives include improving knowledge and practice of HIV and sexually transmitted infection prevention measures in the general adult population, youth and vulnerable population sub-groups; developing and expanding treatment, care and support services for people and families living with HIV and AIDS; and building the capacity of the New Sudan National AIDS Council, nongovernmental organizations and local institutions to effectively manage and monitor HIV and AIDS programs.
