The objectives of this program are: “By 2026, Atleast 95% of population at risk of malaria living in accessible areas are provided with appropriate malaria prevention and case management services”. “By 2026, at least 20 districts shall be reporting zero local transmission of malaria”.. “By 2026, malaria M&E, EPR and surveillance capacity is enhanced to provide the required national strategic information for decision making”.. “By 2026, the enabling environment and systems for malaria response in Somalia are optimally functioning”.

<narrative xml:lang="en">Maximizing Efforts to Control and Eliminate Malaria in Somalia - Somalia (01-Jan-2018-31-Dec-2020)</narrative>
Somalia, Malaria, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)This program has the following goals: Ensure there is interruption of local Plasmodium falciparum transmission in 25% of the regions. Prepare 50% of regions for pre-elimination (malaria incidence <1 case per 1000) in which there has been historically low transmission. Reduce malaria case morbidity and mortality by 40% in endemic areas. The objectives of this program are: To consolidate the achievements of the previous NSPs. To maintain and increase equitable coverage of interventions for all at risk populations including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and mobile populations where geographically relevant. To enhance national surveillance systems and community based case management to promote an enabling environment in which to move towards malaria elimination in areas of continually low transmission.

<narrative xml:lang="en">Strengthening Malaria Control and Health Systems in Somalia - Somalia (01-Jul-2015-31-Dec-2017)</narrative>
Somalia, Malaria, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)This program has the following goals: By 2017, achieve and sustain near zero (<1% parasite prevalence) malaria prevalence within areas of historically low transmissions (Somaliland, Puntland and Central part of South Central. By 2017, achieve and sustain universal coverage resulting in 50% reduction of malaria transmission in malarious areas of the country (Southern parts of South Central zone). To contribute to an integrated health system in Somalia which will lead to an overall reduction in all-cause mortality. The objectives of this program are: By December 2017, at least 70% of people living in malarious areas recognize and take proper action to prevent malaria and seek treatment.. By December 2017, ensure at least 90% of the population in targeted areas, are covered by LLINs or IRS as guided by stratification. By December 2017, increase access to effective malaria diagnosis and treatment to at least 80% of patients in public health facilities, including primary health units, and 60% of patients in targeted private facilities. By December 2017, strengthen health system monitoring and evaluation, and procurement supply chain processes.. By December 2017, strengthen national capacity for malaria surveillance and epidemic response management.
