47045-SLV-T-MOH-1 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria El Salvador, Tuberculosis, Ministry of Health of the Republic of El Salvador (MOH)This program has the following goals: Detect TB promptly, reduce mortality and start the process of Advanced TB Control and Pre-elimination as a public health issue in selected municipalities, applying WHO’s post-2015 strategy nationally, with multisectoral support and involvement, particularly the support of civil society organizations. The objectives of this program are: Detect at least 90 percent of bacteriologically confirmed cases of drug-resistant TB (RR-TB and/or MDR-TB) notified to the national TB program. Detect at least 90 percent of respiratory symptoms and cases of TB, prioritizing the municipalities with the largest detection gaps. Promptly diagnose and treat TB in at-risk groups (PDL, diabetics or immunosuppressed patients, contacts, health workers, children). Promptly diagnose and treat TB/HIV coinfection. Strengthen the health system. Successfully treat more than 90% percent of cases detected. The objectives of this program are: Detect at least 90% of respiratory symptomatic patients prioritizing municipalities that have the greatest detection gap.. Detect at least 90% of tuberculosis cases prioritizing municipalities that have the greatest detection gap.. Cure over 90% of cases of positive bacteriological pulmonary TB.. Detect at least 90% of the bacteriologically confirmed cases of drug-resistant tuberculosis (tuberculosis resistant to Rifampicin and/or multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis) reported to the national tuberculosis program.. Achieve 90% success rate in treatment of cases of drug-resistant TB.. Reduce the percentage of deaths by TB/HIV coinfection by 5 percentage points compared to 2012 (19%).. Make the End TB Strategy operational in 100% of the services of the National Health System, prisons and other high-risk populations.. Achieve a TB incidence rate of between 19 and 15 x 100,000 inhabitants in at least 50% of the municipalities classified in pre-elimination.. Reduce the mortality rate for TB in the country from 0.5 per 100,000 inhabitants to 0.4 per 100,000 inhabitants (20% reduction).
