<narrative xml:lang="en">Strengthen support to communities towards the Elimination of Malaria, TB & HIV/AIDS in Sierra Leone - Sierra Leone (01-Jul-2021-30-Jun-2024)</narrative> Sierra Leone, Multicomponent, Catholic Relief Services - United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (CRS Sierra Leone)This program has the following goals: Reduce new HIV infections and AIDS related mortality. Reduce the incidence of Tuberculosis in Sierra Leone by 30% by 2025 (from 298 per 100,000 to 210 per 100,000). By end of 2025, contribute significantly to the improvement of the well-being of the population by reducing the malaria burden. Reorganize and strengthen the entire public and private health systems to ensure access to quality and affordable health care for all Sierra Leoneans by 2030. The objectives of this program are: Strengthening HIV combination prevention among general, key and vulnerable populations. Increasing access to and retention in HIV treatment, care and support for the PLHIV, key and highly vulnerable populations.. Strengthening the critical HIV response enablers and multisectoral development synergies.. TB case detection rate is increased by 15% through active case finding, integration of TB in other services, involvement of Private sector, and expansion of use of Gene-Xpert test, and 90% of Drug Susceptible TB cases notified & treated by 2025.. To increase treatment success rate of TB (all forms) from 88.9% in 2019 to 90% in 2025.. To detect and diagnose 90% of the MDR-TB cases and treat with appropriate therapy by 2025. To test all TB patients for HIV and ensure all(100%) co- infected patients enrolled on ART.. By end of 2025, (i) reduce malaria mortality rates by at least 75% compared to 2015; (ii) reduce malaria case incidence by at least 75% compared to 2015; and (iii) 90% of the population practice at least 3 recommended malaria prevention and control behaviours. By 2025, (iv) strengthen malaria surveillance and use of malaria information to improve decision making for programme performance; (v) Ensure timely and adequate supply of quality-assured malaria commodities to public and private health facilities at all levels;. By 20205, (vi) strengthen and maintain capacity for program management, coordination and partnership to achieve malaria programme performance at all levels; and, (vii) improve mobilisation of resources and maximise the efficient use of available resource for greater public health impact.. Transform the health sector from an under-resourced, ill-equipped and inadequate delivery system into a well-resourced and functioning national health-care delivery system that is affordable for everyone and accessible to all especially the most vulnerable segment of the population.
