Where malaria intensity is very low (Red Sea, Northern, River Nile and Khartoum states) more efforts will be exerted to accelerate the process towards the malaria pre-elimination phase. The objectives of this program are: By 2016, to detected and respond to 85 % of malaria epidemics within two weeks of its occurrence through integrated disease surveillance and EPR system. By 2016, to ensure that 80% of people living in malaria risk areas have prompt access to malaria parasitological diagnosis, and 100% of malaria cases have access to effective treatment. By 2016, to have at least 85% community use of provided malaria services based on risk context. By 2016, to reach 100% universal coverage of communities in at risk areas with a suitable effective vector control interventions. By 2016, to strengthen the capacity of the integrated health system to enable the Malaria Control Programme at national, states and locality levels, to properly plan, guide, implement, and coordinate the delivery of malaria interventions through the local health system.
