General terms and conditions which apply to Global Fund grants. 47045-SAF-H-RTC-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria South Africa currently has one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in the world. According to UNAIDS, in 2008 an estimated 5.7 million people are living with HIV of which approximately 3.2 million are women and 280,000 are children. The current Single Stream of Funding is based on the Round 10 proposal implemented along with another Principal Recipient. The Program seeks to expand the national response by improving HIV and TB case finding; improving connections to care; bringing eligible adults and children onto treatment through streamlined procurement and supply chain management of antiretrovirals; accelerating the rollout of Medical Male Circumcision (MMC) to target high-impact areas; enhancing monitoring and trouble-shooting activities with respect to adverse events and drug resistance; adding technical capacity to the health care system; and improving integrated service delivery at the community level. The current grant will implement activities to expand access to MMC, increase HIV case finding particularly for most at risk populations (MARPs), prisoners, men who undergo MMC and in TB crisis districts; conduct HIV drug resistance testing; increase TB case finding in three priority districts; and improve laboratory capacity for TB diagnostics.
