47045-QMJ-507-G05-M-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria With the help of Global Fund support and that of other donors, malaria-related morbidity and mortality have significantly decreased in the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. This Round 5 grant, extended through the Global Fund’s Rolling Continuation Channel, supports a program which contributes to making progress towards achieving the health Millennium Development Goals by 2015. The program focuses efforts on scaling up to almost 100 percent coverage of long-lasting insecticidal nets in both countries, targeted indoor residual spraying in high transmission areas, strengthening and/or expanding parasitic diagnosis, building local capacity in treatment to extend to all confirmed cases of malaria, strengthening routine surveillance; and strengthening program management and financial accountability.
