47045-PSE-708-G01-H-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria While the data and the dynamics of HIV infection in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over time suggest a low prevalence, it is likely that many cases go undetected. The program supported by this grant aims to address the following key strategic gaps in the HIV and AIDS response, based on the development of the National Strategic Plan on AIDS: reduction of HIV-associated stigma; containment of the spread of HIV infection; increased access to appropriate treatment; care and support for people living with and affected by HIV; and capacity building. The program targets populations most-at-risk, including injecting drug users and sex workers; vulnerable groups, including labor migrants, youth, women and prisoners; people living with HIV and their families; and sexually transmitted infection patients and blood recipients.
