<narrative xml:lang="en">Contribution to the Implementation of National TB Control Program towards Zero TB in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Targeting Investment to Eliminate Malaria in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea - Korea (Democratic Peoples Republic) (01-Oct-2019-30-Sep-2022)</narrative> Korea (Democratic Peoples Republic), Multicomponent, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)This program has the following goals: To end the TB epidemic in DPRK, indicated by a reduction of incidence of 50% by 2025, and 80% by 2030 (compared to the result of the National TB Prevalence Survey 2015/2016). To completely interrupt local transmission of Malaria across the country by 2022. The objectives of this program are: Scale up services for diagnosis of TB to achieve case detection rate of 95% with the baseline identified by results of National TB Prevalence Survey. Ensure the quality of services for TB treatment and maintain a treatment success rate of more than 90%. Expand access to drug resistant TB diagnosis and treatment services to reach more than 90% of newly occurring MDR-TB cases by 2021, and achieve treatment success rate of at least 70%. Engage with civil society, NGOs, key affected populations (including children), and other health programs for TB prevention, care and control, and ensure the sustainability of the existing social protection measures to mitigate the financial burden of TB affected families. Strengthen research and innovations for scientifically backing up TB control. Reduce number of indigenous malaria cases nationwide as compared with 2016 baseline value (5,113 cases). Reduce API <1 case per 1000 population in Ris that were at high transmission settings in 2016 (617 high risk Ris). Eliminate malaria from Ri level areas in which malaria was transmitted in 2016; baseline value (1,575 low risk Ris + 617 high risk Ris = Total 2,192 Ris). Prevent re-establishment of malaria in all Ri level areas that had malaria potential or were malaria free in 2016
