47045-MWP-708-G07-T-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Built on the experiences and successes of the Round 2 grant, the Round 7 grant aims at attaining the goal of the Strategic Plan to Stop TB in the Western Pacific to halve prevalence and mortality from all forms of TB by 2010 relative to 2000, thereby contributing to the achievement of Millennium Development Goal 6. The following Pacific Island countries are benefiting from the program supported by this grant: Cook Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States), Nauru, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The program focuses efforts on sustaining and optimizing quality DOTS and exceeding the Stop TB Partnership targets for case detection and treatment; ensuring equitable access to high-quality TB care for all people with TB; and adapting DOTS to respond to multidrug-resistant TB and TB/HIV co-infection.
