47045-MON-S-MOH-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria In Mongolia, investments in aspects of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) have been made through various projects particularly influenza preparedness, but also through Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV programs. The overall support is not coordinated as several issues such as weak IPC surveillance, lack of skills of IPC practitioners and uncertainty about their assigned roles and poorly enforced and clarified IPC procedures have been raised. Based on the Health Management Information System (HMIS), the program will provide a foundation for more effective pathogen specific IPC in TB and HIV. The program will strengthen quality and use of health management information systems for evidence-based decision making and strengthen IPC in health care facilities. The beneficiaries of the program are health system decision makers, general population of Mongolia, and IPC practitioners. The current grant implements activities to address the main Health System Strengthening (HSS) constraints and weaknesses health workforce, information, leadership and governance, service delivery, medical products and technologies, and financing.
