<narrative xml:lang="en">Intensified Malaria control in high burden provinces towards falciparum eliminations - Iran (Islamic Republic) (01-Apr-2014-30-Sep-2017)</narrative>
Iran (Islamic Republic), Malaria, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Iran)This program has the following goals: To eliminate local transmission of falciparum malaria by 2015 in target districts. To prevent malaria deaths in target districts. To reduce local malaria transmission by 80% by end of 2015 compared to 2009 in target areas. The objectives of this program are: Objective 1: Treatment of all malaria cases according to the National Malaria Treatment Guidelines on the basis of parasitological confirmation of diagnosis. Objective 2: Protection of at least 90% of at risk people in target districts by vector control measures based on IVM approach. Objective 3: Prevention of malaria epidemics and re-introduction of malaria falciparum transmission. Objective 4: The target districts will have strengthened health system and supportive inter-sectoral and community partnership on National Malaria Elimination Programme
