47045-GMB-M-CRS-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria <narrative xml:lang="en">Scaling up Malaria prevention and control for universal coverage to achieve pre-elimination stage in the Gambia - Gambia (01-Jan-2013-30-Jun-2016)</narrative> In Gambia, malaria is holo- to meso-endemic with highly seasonal variation. The program supported by this grant aims to scale up the country&#39;s efforts to eliminate malaria among its population. The program will focus on the diagnosis of malaria, using microscopy and rapid diagnostic tests; treatment at health facilities; and the scaling up of home management of malaria and of indoor residual spraying. The program also aims to scale up the distribution of long-lasting insecticidal nets and behavior change communication activities.
