(Plan Guinea)This program has the following goals: Significantly reduce the TB disease burden among the population of Guinea, with a view to attaining the targets of the global post-2015 End TB Strategy. The objectives of this program are: Detect rifampicin resistance among at least 80 percent of re-treatment cases in 2017 and place at least 90 percent of confirmed RR-TB/MDR-TB cases on second-line treatment.. Extend community DOTS from 14 to 20 prefectures (including six severely affected by EVD), so that at least 10 percent of TB patients are referred by a CHW in 2017.. Increase the treatment success rate from 78.2 percent in 2014 to 84 percent in 2017.. Screen at least 85 percent of TB patients for HIV and place at least 90 percent of co-infected patients on ARVs in 2017.. Strengthen TB diagnosis capacity and quality and scale up screening among vulnerable populations and at-risk groups, with a view to increasing the number of TB cases detected and placed on treatment by 2.2 percent each year.. Strengthen the NTCP’s management and monitoring capacities, so that at least 95 percent of planned program activities under the grant, and for which funding is available in the country, are completed in 2017.
