General terms and conditions which apply to Global Fund grants. 47045-ETH-708-G09-H-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Ethiopia is one of the countries most affected by the HIV and AIDS pandemic, with an estimated 2.2 million citizens currently living with HIV. The program supported by this grant is designed to strengthen and expand the scale-up of social mobilization, care and support programs for people living with HIV and AIDS as well as orphans and children made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS. The program intends to increase coverage and adherence to antiretroviral therapy in 40 districts of four major regional states. The program also aims to enhance community ownership and response to HIV and AIDS with community conversation and other means, and mobilizing local communities to support orphans and vulnerable children. Mitigation of the social and economic impact of HIV and AIDS on people living with the disease and their families through job creation, income-generating activities and the provision of food and nutritional support to people living with HIV and AIDS and their families is another important component of the program.
