47045-BIH-T-UNDP-2 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria The TB burden in Bosnia and Herzegovina is moderate in comparison with other countries in the World Health Organization European Region. The goal of the program supported by this grant is to cost effectively reduce the TB burden, which has remained steady in recent years, and further consolidate and fortify National Tuberculosis Programme efforts aimed at its sustainable reduction. The program will continue and further develop ongoing activities initiated under the Round 6 grant. It is also aligned with national objectives for strengthening the governance and coordination of health systems and for the further development of primary health care and family medicine, among other reform efforts. The main beneficiaries of this grant will be TB and multidrug-resistant TB patients, ethnic minorities and Roma populations, prisoners and migrants, and other vulnerable populations living in poor conditions. The population at large will also benefit from a decrease in TB and from strengthened health systems.
