It is a primary cause of sickness and death in the country is an obstacle to socio-economic development. With a goal of reducing malaria-related sickness and death among pregnant women and children under the age of five in the Mono and Couffo regions, the program supported by this grant will extend the implementation of malaria control activities, by promoting the use of insecticide-treated bed nets through women’s groups and health facilities; and by increasing access to early diagnosis and treatment with artemisinin-based combination therapies. In addition, the program aims increase awareness about malaria prevention and treatment.
