47045-BDI-M-SEPCNLS-1 The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria <narrative xml:lang="en">Support to Consolidate Key Interventions to Control Malaria in Burundi - Burundi (01-Jul-2014-31-Dec-2015)</narrative> This grant is the consolidation of the grant BRN-202-G05-M which finances mainly malaria case management activities, including procurement of health commodities, and of the grant BRN-910-G09-M which has financed the LLINs mass campaign of June 2014 and supports supervision of community-based activities. The consolidated grant will finance case management activities, including diagnostics and treatment, through procurement of pharmaceutical and health products, in coordination with the President Malaria Initiative; in particular, it supports the implementation of the new malaria Standard Treatment Guidelines, specifically the introduction of Intermittent Preventive Treatment and use of Artesunate Injectable to treat sever malaria. The grant also finances Monitoring &amp; Evaluations activities, including funding for the 2015 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) with parasitemia testing, data quality meetings and a biannual drug efficacy study. It also supports the National Malaria control Program.
